1964 Jaguar E-Type – The Most Beautiful Car Ever!
Mr. Ferrari knew a pretty car when he saw one and he might have been one of the first to express the sentiment, but an incalculable number of others have said virtually the same thing and they’re still saying it fifty years later. Designed by a noted aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer, the E-type was meant to cheat the wind, but its glass covered headlights, long hood, short rear deck and compound curves also coincidentally looked great.
This vehicle has a 2 door convertible/cabriolet body style with a front mounted engine supplying power to the rear wheels. A naturally aspirated 4.2 liter engine powers the car. This power plant features double overhead camshaft valve gear, 6 cylinder layout, and 2 valves per cylinder. It develops 265 bhp (269 PS/198 kW) of power at 5400 rpm. Maximum torque of 385 N·m (284 lb·ft/39.3 kgm) at 4000 rpm. The engine delivers its power through to the wheels by means of a 4 speed manual ‘box. It weighs a quoted 1170 kg at the kerb. The maximum speed of the 1964 Jaguar E-Type is claimed to be 153 MPH.
